Instantaneous 'Spikes' Appear in Data Collected from SCADA, How Can I Filter Them?

While collecting data from a sensor in our SCADA system, I observe instantaneous spikes that rise sharply and immediately drop outside the normal value range. These data distort my reports and analyses. Is it possible to prevent these spikes at the hardware level or filter them programmatically within the SCADA software?

In the described scenario, all data from the sensor is being directly recorded into the database, which causes the reports to appear in an undesired format. To address this, it is recommended to enable the "Log Filter" feature for the relevant tags.

The "Log Filter" allows you to filter sensor data based on a specified value range, ensuring that only records meeting this condition are written to the database. This reduces unnecessary data load and prevents sudden value spikes from being logged, resulting in more accurate and readable reports.
