In my SCADA system, an alarm should be triggered when the temperature sensor data exceeds the 45-degree threshold. However, since the sensor value keeps fluctuating between 44.9 and 45.1 degrees, the alarm keeps triggering and clearing repeatedly. This situation is very disturbing for the operators and causes them to miss real alarms. How can I solve this problem?

When the alarm condition defined for a tag is met, the system triggers an alarm and sends a notification to the user. Once the alarm condition is no longer valid, the alarm notification is expected to be automatically cleared. Continuous fluctuations of the sensor readings within such a narrow range are uncommon and may indicate a sensor malfunction.
To prevent this behavior without affecting overall system performance, it is recommended to slightly increase the alarm threshold value.
